Currently my Papa is trying to get me to sleep in my Pack and Play instead of in bed with him and Mama. I'm lukewarm, but Happy Birthday to my wonderful Papa!
Collin has had a busy couple of weeks. First he had a delicious dinner at the Lovejoy-Grinells. He met his Papou, Yia Yia, and Thea for the first time when they came to visit Ithaca. He also hung out with his friends Bryn, Molly, and Declan. Meanwhile his Papou taught his Papa all he really needs to know about the justice system at the Cornell law library.
Collin is quite the social 8-week-old butterfly. What a great time to learn to smile!
So all the books said that by the sixth week "your baby may be able to smile." Knowing this was far from a guarantee, we told ourselves that we wouldn't read too much into this developmental milestone. At least, not at the start of the week. But six smileless days later and Emily and I were starting to take this personally. But with roughly two hours left before he turned seven weeks, well, see for yourself...
After weeks of sponge bathing, it was time to give the kid his first full submersion. Despite the pictures, he took to the water better than either of us expected.
