Easter 2012

So much for a traditional portrait.

We obviously kept our yard junky to allow the Easter Bunny to have more hiding options.

"Dahnce!"...

...as Romy calls it.

Collin had his big recital at Beye Elementary School yesterday.  The video is the best we could get, but being the only boy makes Collin easy to spot. It's too bad you can't see his doodle-y expressions.  If you click here you can see it a little bigger.

His class of 3 and 4 year-olds did a great job (not to be judgemental, but the dances by the same age group fell apart the second the curtain rose.)

The dude loves to dance.  Mommy just hopes he won't want to quit when he realizes that he's the only boy.  Gender roles are steam "roleing" into his consciousness in the last month or so.

Here's Collin with his wonderful teacher, Ms. Valerie, who understands that while waiting for their entrance, little girls might be content to sit backstage and color, but little boys need to move around!

Mommy and Baba got so many compliments on his performance.  A lady even rolled down her window on the street to tell us that Collin stole the show.  Later in the ice cream parlor another dancer and her family came in and told us the same thing.  Collin didn't seem to really care since the recital was a whole hour ago (ancient history) and he was busy with the matchbox cars he received in lieu of flowers.

Arboretum Daffodils

Mommy/Mama took the kids to the Morton Arboretum on Thursday. Spring had sprung! There were tons of daffodils and blossoming trees. We also took a trail through the pine forest. Romy especially like to stomp around in the woods off the trail.

Dancing on the stone bench:
Ginko Eye:
After lunch we took a walk around one of the lakes:
Daffodil glade, thousands of flowers:

Evidence of a good trip (except for the part when Collin was screaming for 20 minutes because Mommy wouldn't let him play in a swamp):
