Contractions? There's An Ap For That.

Thursday morning Mommy woke up with contractions. Baba downloaded the contractor timer to track their speed and duration. Meanwhile Jeanne (who is more pregnant than Mommy--still, as far as we know) kindly brought over a breakfast smorgasboard. Mommy was so scared of going to the hospital too early and having another casesarean that she held tight with Jeanne and her two wonderful doulas so she could labor at home for as long as possible.
Baba was scared that they would be naming the baby "Eisenhauer" in honor of the freeway they became stuck on at rush hour on the way to the hospital. Mommy arrived screaming at the ER at 9cm dilated and went right to delivery. It was too late for any kind of epidural or pain meds. At one point Mommy was in so much pain that Baba got very emotional because he could not help her. He's a pretty amazing guy. Two hours later Rosemary Lloyd Bornhorst was born at 8:19pm weighing 7 pounds, 6 ounces with a full head of blonde hair (something very rare according to the nurses). She came out and went right onto Mommy's chest, fully alert. It was exactly what Mommy and Baba wanted for this birth. They are so lucky and blessed.
