Beachwalk Friday

We arrived at Beachwalk at 6pm Friday night.  We stayed in the Pink Palace which backs right into Lake Kai.  Seeing the lake through all the windows on the back of the house really made it feel like we were on vacation.  It was big, beautiful, and beachy.  Best of all, it had everything we needed:  beach wagon, beach toys, legos, kids books, bedrails, dvds, and a kayak.  We didn't even need to bring sippy cups.  Here's a view of the great room:

Here's a view to the side out of our back screened porch:
The kids went with Baba to the big playground while mommy made dinner.  Then we all headed out to watch the sunset.  If you look at the central horizon you can see Chicago:

 The surf was huge!

By the way, Mommy started to blog about last year's trip but never finished it.  You can see it Here.
The title, Lloydhorsts of the Dunes was shamelessly stolen from the Painters who created the very entertaining blog series: Painters of the _______.

  2. We went there last year for a weekend and although Mike and I didn't fall in love with the place, Collin talked about it daily for the entire year so we decided to go back. We were talking about how it was no Lovejoy-Grinnel lake house though because we had no privacy with the houses being so close together. Your place is much more tranquil (even with people going too fast on the gravel!)
